The English are strange people. They are the only ones on the continent who insist driving on the wrong side of the road, so to say. But on London’s Savoy Street they just get stranger.
If you are one of the queer like us, a small detour from Trafalgar Square, will make your London visit much more interesting. It is the only street in the whole of the United Kingdom where one is allowed to drive on the right side of the road.
Savoy Street starts from the Strand and leads to the entrance of the Savoy hotel. It is not a very long street but is a“no-through” meaning that drivers are forced to perform a U-turn after dropping passengers at the Hotel’s entrance, which is on the right side of the road.
It might sound tricky to understand the reason behind the abnormal driving on this street but all is explained on location.
